Caring for Gold Vermeil: What You Need to Know

Gold vermeil is a thick layer of real gold (minimum 2.5 microns) bonded to sterling silver. Unlike gold plating on base metal, vermeil is hypoallergenic and durable. To maintain its luster: store pieces individually, avoid contact with water and perfume, and polish with a soft cloth. Our 18K vermeil uses 3 microns of gold — 20% thicker than the standard.
